The Omaha Film Festival is moving from its home of the past five years, Regal Cinema near 72nd Street and Sorensen Parkway, to Marcus Village Pointe Cinema, near 168th Street and West Dodge Road.

The announcement was made at a party Friday night for volunteers and local filmmakers. The ninth annual Omaha Film Festival will be March 5 through 9.

Omaha World Herald | Omaha Film Festival Set for Five Days of Events

Bob Fischbach of the Omaha World Herald previews this year’s film festival:

The five-day festival will screen 91 films, including 16 narrative features, seven documentaries, four special screenings and 64 short films divided into seven sessions. All will be shown at Regal Cinema (formerly Great Escape), 7440 Crown Point Ave. Nightly parties at venues around the city will give film fans and filmmakers a chance to mingle and connect.

Shorts by Nebraska filmmakers, among the festival’s most popular offerings, number 19 this year and will be shown in three blocks, March 7 and 8 at 8:45 p.m. and March 9 at 8 p.m.
